Below is part of the cover letter from my first application to Jane a couple years back. Since then, I have continued to grow and I left it here to highlight that my interest in joining Jane’s team continues to live on.
Meet Marc
[Product leader committed to innovation, empathy, and AI-driven solutions.]
Since first using Jane in 2022, I have seen its impact from when I book appointments to running my own therapy practice, and I would love to explore whether there is a place for me on the team. I want to be part of something that helps helpers thrive, and as both a therapist and a product leader, I understand how great product can let users accomplish their end goals.
This webpage highlights more of my soft skills than hard skills. Want to jump right to the resume? Find it here.
🗨️ Parts of My Story.
🚀 The Mission: Helping The Helpers
‣
Helping has always been a part of my life. See some examples:
Volunteering at the Daily Bread Food Bank in Toronto in Grade 8 was my first community experience (Yes, it was mandatory)
High school led to other volunteering projects including: patient transport at a hospital (For school), more Daily Bread Food Bank (For school), & Summer Camp Volunteer Counsellor (For Fun!).
One of my favourite volunteer positions was working with Daniel M. once a week over a couple semesters. A fantastic kid with special needs that needed assistance going to Scouts.
Canvassed my neighbourhood for the Heart & Stroke foundation for 2 years.
Blood Donor🩸
Came across r/TrashLove during the pandemic and started community cleanups in my town.(u/eagle_lark [not very active at the moment]).
Volunteered as the Director of Special Projects with Steps Foundation (2013-2018). Steps Foundation was a non-profit focused on raising money within the Toronto financial space and donating to various non-profit and charity organizations with Financial Literacy initiatives.
Completed a Masters in Counselling Psychology and now helping to address the mental health crisis. [Not strictly volunteer, but I do some pro-bono work]
🔭 The Vision: More Happier Helpers
‣
Delightful. Powerful. Integral.
I enjoy meeting new people everywhere I go. With experiences throughout North America and Europe, I’m happy to have a place to call home wherever I go.
Trust is earned. My ‘actual resume’ can speak more to my success in the startup space where building trust among small teams is crucial.
The intentionality behind Jane’s brand, culture, and online presence is clear. It is not just polished; it feels lived. That reflects strong leadership and aligned execution.
I am motivated by the opportunity to connect with the people who use and build Jane every day. Understanding what helps them thrive and what gets in their way is essential to building the right product.
A team that earns a 4.7 rating on Glassdoor is not just happy; it is engaged. That shows trust, autonomy, and shared purpose, which are exactly the qualities I want to help support and grow.
Jane operates in a competitive space, but leads with heart and clarity. That spark to work with other platforms (i.e. Owl) not come through when I explore them, and I believe that difference matters.
‣
Work Hard.
Over a decade of experience in Tech, Finance, and the startup world with significant responsibilities including development, product, and vision has culminated in a work hard attitude.
I am open to a new position. I dislike the search process and want to get back to making meaningful products.
“Working hard also means solving problems - not just questions. Know the customer. Do your research.”
I love research. RamCor Insights was all about research. Searching for patterns, searching for companies that fit specific criteria, searching gb’s of data for diamonds in the rough.
Books are a great way to learn, and I look for opportunities to solve problems with new techniques.

Here are some of the books I’ve read in the last several years:
#worklifeharmony 🚲💕🌻💻 is very important to me.
‣
Have Fun.
Work and fun haven’t felt all that connected for me lately—and I miss that. One of my favourite work-meets-play memories was captaining a dodgeball team made up of coworkers and friends. It brought the team together in a way no retro or retrospective ever could.
Jane’s culture of blending real work with real joy resonates. Whether it’s sharing Friday lunch rituals or celebrating milestones as humans, not just coworkers, I feel aligned with that kind of environment.
Also—does anyone else here enjoy bikepacking/cycling/triathlon?

🚀 The Mission: Joining a great team
‣
Why Join the Jane Team?
I recently completed my Master’s in Counselling Psychology and want to bring that insight into product work that directly supports care providers
I am ready to move beyond the financial sector and contribute to tools that improve health, connection, and human wellbeing
Jane is stable, values-driven, and respected—exactly the kind of environment I want to invest in
Building this page was instinctive because Jane genuinely stands out from every other company I’ve considered
Jane’s focus on AI-powered product aligns with my interests and search for growth and development.
🔭 The Vision: Growth & Inspiration
‣
Growth
I enjoy learning via different methods and resources.
Books
Conversations
Documentaries
Podcasts
‘Digging in’ (Programming)
Experimentation (Chat GPT)
Notion
Personal growth including physical, mental, emotional, and financial are all very important to me.
Professional growth is important, and I have demonstrated non-linear growth throughout my career.
‣
Inspiration
I draw on inspiration from the past, present, future. People, places, and stories.
❤️ The Values: Do Good. Make the World A Better Place.
‣
Do Good
I have been fortunate to build a career I’m proud of. I’ve worked with exceptional people, built complex systems, and created lasting partnerships along the way.
But one thing has been missing—purpose beyond the product. Much of what I’ve built has served core business objectives, but not the broader human impact I’m now seeking.
I want to work at Jane because the product facilitates care, connection, and real good in the world. That kind of impact is what I want to be part of next.
‣
Make The World A Better Place
I want to continuing aligning my personal goals and values with my professional life. That includes working at places and with people that are making the world a better place.
Problem Solving: Where do I fit within Jane.App?
I have been keeping a close eye on the roles and opportunities at Jane over the past few of years. I see plenty of opportunity, and I hope you will to.
Let’s talk and reimagine how Jane’s platform can empower practitioners with faster charting, intuitive workflows, and AI-enhanced efficiency—so they can spend their energy where it matters most.
